Cipmox Structure
Each 5ml vial contains
- 0.3% w/v Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride;
- 0.01% w/v Benzalkonium chloride NF (preservative);
- Sterile aqueous vehicle q.s
Cipmox Indications
Cipmox eye drops are indicated for the treatment of conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers.
Cipmox eye drops are indicated for the treatment of:
- Prophylaxis in otic surgeries such as mastoid surgery;
- Otitis externa;
- Chronic suppurative otitis media;
- Acute otitis media;
Cipmox Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to quinolone group of antibacterials or any of the components of the formulation.
Cipmox Dosage
Ear:
Cipmox eye drops recommended dosage for all infections, 2-3 drops every 2- 3 hours initially, reducing the frequency of the
instillation with control of infection.
Bacterial Conjunctivitis:
Cipmox eye drops dosage regimen for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis is 1 or 2 eye drops instilled into the
conjunctival sac(s) every 2 hours while awake for 2 days and 1 or 2 eye drops every four hours while awake for the next 5 days.
Corneal Ulcers:
Cipmox eye drops dosage regimen for the treatment of corneal ulcers is 2 eye drops into the affected eye every 15 minutes for
the first 6 hours and then 2 drop into the affected eye every 30 minutes for the remainder of the first day. On the second
day, instil two drops in the affected eye hourly. On the third through the fourteenth day, place two drops in the affected
eye every 4 hours. Treatment may be continued after 14 days if corneal re-epithelization has not occurred.
