Indications

Livostin has the generic name of levocabastine or novartis ophthalmics.
Livostin eye drop is indicated as a temporary relief for the signs and symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. Livostin could also be indicated in other purposes not mentioned here.

Contraindications

Patients should not use Livostin eye drop if they have allergy or is hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of Livostin eye drop.
It is not advisable to use Livostin eye drop while wearing a contact lenses. Livostin eye drop should not be indicated or administered as an injection.
Before using Livostin, shake it well first. Do not allow the tip of the dropper to touch your eyelids or any area around the dropper tip. When it is not used, make sure that the bottle is tightly closed.
Livostin eye drop belongs to the FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Livostin eye drop could affect or cause harm to an unborn baby. Talk to your doctor first before using Livostin eye drop if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during the treatment.
It is not known whether Livostin eye drop could cause harm to a nursing infant. Inform our doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby before using Livostin eye drop.
The effects of Livostin when indicated in children below 12 years old are unknown. Talk to your doctor about this.

Intake Guidelines

Dosage

Side Effects

Together with the desirable effects, Livostin could also result to undesirable effects. However, this does not mean that all patients using Livostin would experience any of the side effects. Some of the side effects of Livostin are mild, transient stinging and burning and headache; dry mouth; cough; fatigue; visual disturbances; eye pain or dryness; Pharyngitis; somnolence; lacrimation or discharge; red eyes; nausea; dyspnea; eyelid edema; and rash or erythema.

Interactions

Some drugs taken together with Livostin eye drop may cause undesirable effects or side effects. There are no specific information about the drugs that could affect or interact with Livostin. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other drugs aside from Livostin eye drop. Talk to your doctor first before taking any other prescriptions or over-the-counter medicines such as vitamins, minerals, and other herbal products.
